A CLANDESTINE AMENDMENT

Exciting times are upon us as the growing American Reform Movement champions specific amendments to the Constitution! The calls for change are resonating louder than ever, targeting crucial areas like campaign financing, election procedures, citizens’ rights, fiscal responsibility, the legislative process, and the balance between federal and state powers.
It's fascinating to note that throughout our relatively short history, over 12,000 constitutional amendments have been proposed. Yet, only 27 have been ratified, with one being repealed due to its disastrous nature. This leads us to two intriguing interpretations. Either
1. Our legislators have been incredibly discerning about which proposals receive
serious attention, or
2. Our legislators have been fiercely protective of their political prerogatives, resisting
potential reforms.
I believe the second interpretation is right on target and telling. Navigating the political barriers to pass even a commonsense amendment seems nearly impossible, akin to the proverbial snowball's chance in Hades!

As a result, Americans face a daunting challenge in updating their foundational document. But a constitution that cannot adapt to evolving issues is, by nature, undemocratic. The pressure is mounting, and without yielding to the popular will, an eruption is certain!
Nevertheless, there may be one new amendment that has slipped past the defenders of the status quo. Though unpublished, it appears fully implemented, suggesting that Article I be amended as follows:
“Should the Legislative Branch of government be rendered unable to perform its assigned duties or meet its obligations to the Citizenry, other branches of the federal government may assume those powers.”
The balance of powers has undeniably been disrupted, raising concerns about a more politically active Judiciary and a more authoritarian Executive. Perhaps the Republicans and the Democrats in Congress can again learn to play nice, but I refer you to the image above.
The Citizen v2.1 Initiative boldly asserts that We The People are the ultimate solution! By stepping up as the fourth and highest branch of government, American Citizens can restore a healthy balance of powers, compel the other branches to listen, and propel America toward once again becoming the World’s Leading Democracy.
